Our delicious Ice cream comets
Today we are going to make our self a eatable Comet talk about exiting.
As soon as lunch finished we started.Eagerly waiting Im feeling numb already.Miss Squires announced that we had to get in a circle and crush some biscuits with hundreds and thousands and chocolate sprinkles YUMMY.
I was next in line it was like my heart skipped a beat. I was so exited,scooping the ice cream out of Miss Squires hand it was like I had lost feeling in my hand it was so numbing.Crouching down to put my coating on my hands felt sticky and gooey.
I quickly ran to get a cone and dribbled my Ice Cream into it. Then we had to go outside to eat it.Some people were recording and was being an egg and going close up.Well I had a great time today it was awesome.
And that's my story.

“YES”, I said to myself there’s an Immersion Assembly this morning. This is when you find out what your learning about this term. Miss Squires told us to line up for the assembly.
Walking in the hall with my body full of excitement, I saw all the teachers dressed up as planets and stars, also A little while later we found out that our topic was OUTTA THIS WORLD.
As the excitement calmed down, Mr Burt announced that it was time for the spontaneous crew of team 1, to perform their funny item that was filled with laughter.
They were searching for the sun. Mrs.Lal drew a circle and painted the middle orange. A while later they went outside to search.They started lying in the sun so they found the it.
Then we saw Team 2 they done a space rap. They were doing some Robotic moves, they were wearing also wearing the box heads from Fakebook that had mini lights.”Woohoo”I said as Team 2 went off the stage .

Saving the whales
Whale researcher, Michael Fishbach and his family went to sail the seas in Cortez. They were not trying to find any whales. But they were in for a surprise.
The whale researcher approached a suffering animal- a the whale was stuck. They thought the whale was dead until the whale blew it’s blowhole.
Micheal jumped in the water and saw what was wrong and he discovered that the whale was stuck.They quickly tried to pull the whale to them. then Micheal said “The whale needs to breathe.” The whale was on edge it was really emotional.

It took a full hour to get the net out of site but it was worth it. After a long session of hard work they were finally up to the final cut.Then the whale was sent free.

Cross Country
“Stand up 9 year old girls!” Mr.Somerville announced.We began walking to the reserve, for our cross country race. Shivering with exitement we got to the start line. When I thought that we were going to start running, the 10 year old boys got told to stand up.”Go!” shouted Mr Burt, and they all sprinted off.
Eventually it was time for the 9 year old girls to stand up. Mr.Burt said, “ On your marks. Get set. Go!” Ashlee,Kaycee and I started sprinting furiously.But after a great start I started lagging behind. I felt like I couldn't breathe properly. It felt like my lungs were screaming.
Once we got up to Ms.Squires the track started to get narrow.I was too scared that I was going to fall in the creek. People were bumping into me trying to push past. “Stop it!!” I yelled. Eventually I made it past the narrow bit. But when I was back on track Brandon and Lorenzo were blocking everyone. I pushed Lorenzoout of the way and I moved on.Stumbling down the stairs I was thinking, “Oh oh I’m going too fast I hope I don’t fall down.”
I ran up a steep hill thinking, “I hope the end is close.” At the top of the hill I saw Tyla Baker. ”Go Porscha! she yelled so I started sprinting. Just as I was going to start to walk I saw Tyla and Jonita and they started yelling Run.Run!And I sprinted to the finish line.

R.W.C
Every 4 years there is a Rugby World Cup.In 1987 the first Rugby World Cup was held in New Zealand and New Zealand won. There is 48 games to be played. There will be 20 countries competing for the Rugby World Cup, the current champions are South Africa they won the William Web Ellis in 2007(William Web Ellis is the man who picked up the ball in the middle of a soccer game).The Rugby World Cup will be held all around New Zealand on the 9Th of September.Only one week and a day.
Badminton
Every Thursday we go to Badminton with these ladies called Lorene and Donna they taught us how to hold the rackets.The positions were were called the back hand and the forehand. Lorene told us that we had to keep the shuttle airborne.
She told us that we could use a short racket or a long racket. We got 5 shuttles and tried to hit them into the shuttle filled bin. And I got none in :(.
The second time we went to Badminton a lady named Donna taught us. The first activity that we played was Badminton soccer then she said we had to get a partner, my partner was Jonita. First we had to put some cones separated like a soccer post. Then we started playing. I yelled to Jonita go”, I only got 1 goal in and Jonita got 3.
And then we played a real game of Badminton there was 2 on each side if it did not get over the net or you made a mistake you had to get to the back of the line and wait for your next turn I felt like I was under a lot of pressure. The longest I stayed in was about 5 minutes.

Have you seen snow in real life?
Well I think that's going to be a yes because on Monday there was snow in Auckland.
Usually it snows only 3 times a century which is a pretty long time.
It was 4 degree’s but it was pretty warm inside.
But the sun came out so it turned out well...

Rugby History
Did you ever wonder what the first Rugby Ball was made out of ?
The first Rugby Ball was made out of a pigs bladder in the late 1800’s. was GROSS. There were a bunch of problems about having a pigs bladder as a ball. 1st because it was so smelly, it was disgusting to play with. 2nd because they had to blow the bladder with their lip’s (because pumps weren’t invented) , it was not healthy.

Immersion Assembly
This morning, the first day back at school, there was an Immersion Assembly. An Immersion Assembly is when the teachers talk about our topic. We found out that this term our topic is Keep Your Eye On The Ball, which is learning about the Rugby World Cup. When we walked in I saw almost all of the teachers wearing wigs for their items.
My favorite item was team 3 because the teachers,an All Black, French and Canadian representatives had to get a partner from the audience. Their partners had to sit at the back of them and feed them the Weetbix. The winner was the one who finished first. The All Blacks won (Miss Lavakula)
The best bit was though, if you sat up nicely you got a ticket and then the vendors gave you chip’s - hot chips with a sausage or a fizzy drink.
Then we went back to class.

Motat
I was so exited when I found out that we were going to M.O.T.A.T.When we got there there was a girl Stacey she helped out around M.O.T.A.T.The first activity that we entered was called the Tactile Dome.Once we got in there I was so freaked out but they told us that they weren’t trying to scare us they were trying to see how good our senses were.Me Jonita Tyla and Raeleen.Once we got in the dome I felt things on my feet but I knew that they weren’t bugs.Then we started feeling,it was pretty slippery because I was wearing my socks.Then I felt a net and then we climbed up it.When we got up Jonita found A slide then we slid down it.It was pitch black and freaky.As soon as we got down.I was fumbling and clutching thing as went passed.And then we went down Another slide and we were finished and then I said in my head yes were out.
Later on we went to the game room there was electric sort of ball and that means that if you feel the ball and you touch someone you will electrocute them.And then there was the spinner the spinner was sort of like a scooter but it twirled,whirled made you dizzy and you almost spun off.And then the earthquake cafe was my favourite there was massive vibrations and you were just shaking a lot.After that we went to the mirror maze once we got in there I started running and then I accidentally ran in to A mirror.

My Auntie's Wedding
On the 23rd of April 2011 my Auntie Bonita had her first wedding. My Aunty’s wedding was down in Thames. It took about 1 hour to get there. But it was a bit fun.
As soon as we got there I jumped out of the car with excitement. Firstly I tried on my out fit. It was a black skirt and a long white t-shirt.
After we got changed back, my Nana and some of my cousins and I went to a Bach not very far from my Auntie’s house. It took a while to get there because of the traffic. Finally we arrived.
Once I got inside I went straight to bed because it was about 9:00 at night.
I got up in the morning and had a shower and got in to my out fit and I went to the wedding.We had to go to my Auntie’s house first to help her get changed. But I did not do that.The ceremony was only across the road which did not waste our time.
Once we got to the ceremony my Auntie looked really pretty. She was wearing a long white dress and veil. Her flower girls were her 2 daughters Liana and Anezeree and her bridesmaids were her 4 sisters Darcell, Amelia, Mereana, and Chrystal. They were all wearing shiny silver dresses and teal bows around their waist. My Uncle Jermaine was wearing a really nice black suite with a teal flax rose.

Our school picnic
On Friday 25th of February we had our school picnic at the Point England Reserve. There were a lot of games like cricket, softball, volleyball, touch, gridiron, sack races and swimming. I played some of the games then Ashlee and I went down to the beach. I saw Miss King so I said "Hi" to her and went passed to where some other kids were playing with some clay. It looked fun so I tried it and it was really fun. But after a while it got a bit yucky so I threw it in the water.
Suddenly the horn got blown so that meant that the fun filled day was coming to an end.When we got back to school we lined up and had our fruit and then we went home.
Skateland
With excitement I stepped into the rink. WibbIing and wobbling I yelled to Kaycee, "Ah I'm gonna crash."
Yow! That hurt me. Kaycee got up and once again we thunderously crashed in to each other. I confidently got up again and glided gracefully down the rink.
As I glided I swerved around Litia and Te Rina.
After a while we were getting ready to leave. I felt sweaty, drained and tired.

At the Swimarama lagoon

Yes!!! camp has started could not wait for this very special day. I got up got ready to go on our first camp trip to Swimarama. I went to school . When I got there I went straight into the hall with some of my friends. We went out side to play but then the bell went which meant that we were going to go on the bus. I was really exited. When we got to the pools we were racing. and we having turns at going on the hydro-slide
I only got 1 turn but the rest got 2.

The Christchurch earthquake
Yesterday was a devastating day for the people who is living at Christchurch.
I was devastated listening to my mum even talking to my dad about the earthquake at Christchurch.
It was 6.3 magnitude.It is smaller then their last earthquake but it made more damage.
But the worst bit about it was that 75 people
lost their lives and that people
are trapped under collapsed buildings and rubble I felt very sorry for them.
There was many aftershocks.
This one was bigger than the last one even though it was smaller but the reason it was bigger is because that it was closer to the ground.
There was liquefaction in the ground and it was ruining everything.The rumbling and the shaking destroyed the buildings,causing rubble and bricks to crush cars and buses.
